Rina Myklak migrated from Cambodia as an immigrant and grew up in California. She joined the Army to help pay for her college education and received her Associate's degree in nursing in 1997. She worked in the medical-surgical unit and then the pediatric unit. She continued pursuing higher education and received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from California State University, Fullerton in 2004. She continued her education and received her Master's in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner certification in 2014 from California State University, Long Beach.
